A space you love to come home to isn’t possible without furniture and accessories, but the mark-up on furniture can make that very expensive. You want to know you’re getting the best price. That’s why we tell you exactly what the furniture and accessories cost us. And because we get the furniture at wholesale prices, you get the best price possible.

We do have a mark-up, but it’s a simple 12%. That’s it. No fuzzy math. That 12% goes to order facilitation and operating costs. We even list it out on every quote we give you before you buy anything. That’s 33% less than the national average (and even lower when comparing it to most premium furniture brands). Contact us if you have more questions on how we save you money on high furniture markups.

* The vendor names are blurred out here due the the agreements we have with our vendors.
We are not allowed to publically publish their wholesale prices, but these will be on every quote we provide you.

10% Furniture Mark-upOur 12% mark-up is only to pay for processing quotes, arranging delivery and preparing the order for you. We don’t have the overhead of a typical design firm or home furniture store. This saves us money normally spent on showrooms, office space, utilities and storage fees. And in turn, saves you money. Our designers make money through their excellent service, not they’re ability to get you to spend more. They’ll guide you every step of the way, saving you valuable time and money when they can. If there’s a comparable product at Ikea for a fraction of the cost, we’ll give you that option. Our simple markups, combined with our clear design fees, make Happy Interiors the best deal in interior design in Mineapolis/St. Paul area.

You’ve probably seen the infomercials for wholesale furniture clubs touting “the high price furniture markups” and “extreme savings from insider pricing” you can get by getting a membership. Well, they're half right. Home furnishing markups are high, but the extreme savings these clubs promise are often eroded by membership fees that cost thousands.

The mark-up at furniture stores People are often lured in by retail furniture stores that offer “5 piece living room set” for under $800. You would think that the mark-up on these sets is very low. Unfortunately, that’s not how they get the low prices. Furniture manufacturers will often make the same sofa design with cheaper fabric and materials specially for retail furniture stores. These cheaper materials are more likely to stain, rip and wear out much faster than their original counterpart.

Between cheaply made furniture, pushy salespeople, having to haggle and huge mark-ups, retail furniture shopping is rarely the best path to take.

The mark-up at furniture storesInterior design firms who have access to these wholesale prices usually still markup their furniture by 40%. Oftentimes making more money off the furniture they sell you than the design fee they’re getting paid. This secretiveness can become a confusing and difficult process for their clients.
